We carry out tooth sandblasting. It is one of the basic hygienic procedures, which is recommended to be performed at least twice a year. Sometimes, the frequency should be higher - it all depends on the individual susceptibility to tartar deposition on the tooth surface, hygienic habits and diet.
The purpose of tooth sandblasting is primarily to improve oral hygiene. This effect is achieved by removing deposits and tartar, which also enhances the visual appeal of the teeth. Thanks to sandblasting, it is possible to get rid of unsightly plaque discolouration. This prophylactic treatment minimises the risk of enamel damage, the development of caries and periodontal disease and the formation of cavities. Tooth sandblasting is a procedure performed after scaling and before polishing and fluoridation.
How does tooth sandblasting work?
Tooth sandblasting is carried out using a sandblaster. This specialised device uses high-pressure technology - a special suspension with a cleaning substance, i.e. fine granules, called dental sand, is thus applied to the surface of the teeth.
Advantages of tooth sandblasting is that the high-pressure cleaner reaches even the most inaccessible nooks and crannies, effectively and extremely accurately removing deposits from the tooth surface. The procedure is non-invasive and completely painless. It also carries no risk of damaging or weakening the teeth. Afterwards, the enamel is additionally strengthened with preparations with a high fluoride content, which increases its resistance to the development of caries.
Why should tooth sandblasting be carried out regularly?
Tartar and plaque are deposited on the surface of the teeth due to the consumption of food and drink. People who drink large amounts of coffee and tea, smoke and have crowded teeth are particularly prone to plaque staining. Bacteria accumulating in the plaque can damage the enamel, lead to gingivitis or the development of caries, which is why it is so important to regularly clean the teeth of plaque. To this end, tooth sandblasting is performed. This non-invasive procedure is recommended for anyone wishing to take comprehensive care of their oral hygiene.
Thanks to sandblasting, it is possible to remove tartar and stains from even the most inaccessible tooth surfaces that cannot be reached by a toothbrush during daily hygiene. It should be noted that regular flossing and brushing of teeth, as well as healthy eating habits, do not completely prevent the accumulation of deposits - it is therefore recommended to repeatedly sandblasting of teeth every 6 months.
